How it works

Three steps to a duty estimate

Classify the product

Search by plain-language description or type the 10-digit HTS number if you already know it. Classification drives every other number, so if you are unsure, ask us. A ruling-backed code beats a guess.

Describe the shipment

Enter the customs value, country of origin, mode and dates. Where the tariff is charged per unit (litres, kilograms, dozens) the form asks for the quantity too.

Read the breakdown

Base duty, each Chapter 99 additional tariff, the Merchandise Processing Fee and, for ocean freight, the Harbor Maintenance Fee, each shown with its rate and legal basis.

Not included: freight, insurance, brokerage fees, bond premiums, PGA filing fees, antidumping / countervailing duties, and state or excise taxes. Your customs broker can quote these.

Estimates only. Entry Logic Trade Terminal gives a general estimate for planning. It is not a binding classification, a ruling, or legal, tax or customs advice. Duty is determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at entry and liquidation, based on the classification, valuation and origin you declare. The importer of record remains responsible for reasonable care under 19 U.S.C. § 1484. Antidumping and countervailing duty orders, quota, and partner-government-agency requirements are not evaluated. Confirm with your customs broker before relying on any figure shown here.
