Trade Terminal

The duty math, line by line.

Free during launch · no account needed

Enter an HTS code, origin and value. Trade Terminal builds the estimate the way the entry will be built: base duty, each Chapter 99 tariff with its heading, FTA claims, MPF and HMF, each line with its legal basis.

What's inside

A tariff engine that reads the notes, not just the rate column.

Most calculators add up percentages. Trade Terminal applies the Chapter 99 notes: what overrides what, which programs stack, which are claims, and what was in force on your entry date.
01

Live tariff schedule

The full USITC Harmonized Tariff Schedule, checked daily, with every revision back to 2020. Estimates use the revision in force on your entry date.
02

Real stacking rules

Section 232, 301, 201 and 122 programs, applied the way the notes say: one 232 heading per article, overrides honoured, non-stacking exemptions where the text grants them.
03

Claims stay claims

Exclusions, quota and end-use provisions are never assumed. You tick the claim and see what it changes. Nothing is waived silently.
04

Programs & origins

FTA and preference programs from the General Notes, Column 2 countries, Chapter 98 provisions, and Section 232 metal content inputs.
05

Fees by fiscal year

MPF minimums and maximums by fiscal year, the informal entry fee under $2,500, and HMF for ocean shipments.
06

Pending actions flagged

New proclamations and notices are watched daily. If one may affect your line before the schedule catches up, the estimate warns you.

The Broker Box

What the rate alone won't tell you.

Under every estimate sits the panel a broker checks before quoting. It shows the quota position, the agencies that will want data, and any antidumping or countervailing duty cases.

Quota status

Fill levels from CBP's weekly commodity status report. Filled quotas move the estimate to the over-quota rate automatically.

PGA flags

Which partner government agencies (FDA, EPA, USDA, CPSC and others) flag the line, and what each flag means.

AD/CVD cases

Cases that cover the subheading and origin, with rates and status. New orders and revocations are tracked from Federal Register notices.

How it works

Four inputs to a defensible number.

  1. 1

    Classify

Search the schedule by code or browse the catalog. Classification drives everything else.

  2. 2

    Describe the shipment

Origin, value, mode, entry date and quantity where a rate is per unit.

  3. 3

    Answer the claims

Program preference, vehicle class, metal content, exclusions: only the questions that apply.

  4. 4

    Read the breakdown

Each line with its rate, heading and basis, plus the Broker Box underneath.

Your seat

One login, one person. That's how we keep the price fair.

Trade Terminal is licensed per named user. Teams add seats, and each person gets their own login.
  • Sign in on up to two trusted devices, like your desk and your laptop.
  • Each new browser is confirmed with a one-time code sent to your inbox.
  • Signing in somewhere new signs the previous session out.
  • Team owners add, remove and reassign seats themselves.
  • Read the seat & sharing policy

Estimates are for planning only. They are not a binding classification, a CBP ruling, or legal or customs advice. Duty is determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection at entry.
